“Uncle” and “Aunty” have always meant so much to me. We were the lucky ones when they would choose to visit us in Oz for months at a time. It gave us a real opportunity to get to know them. I remember Uncle as the person who was always “ready to go”, “out in front” on a walk, joking around, pointing things out along the way and keeping you on high alert due to his practical jokes. Uncle and Aunty were so generous to me when I lived in Oxford. My memories are of Uncle appearing in the front window waiting for us to arrive for dinner tapping his watch, having a whiskey, and of course sitting in his seat at the end of the table waiting for dinner!!!! I also remember him making me use his lawn mower from the 1800’s, so that he could have the perfect lawn!!! Generous, funny, adventurous, loving and kind. Thanks for being a great Uncle. I am better off for having you in my life, for all the times my family and I shared with you. Although you are no longer with us physically, your spirit will never be forgotten. Love you Uncle. Xxxx
